How To Make The Right Choice
Jun 29, 2017Does making a choice make you uncomfortable or nervous? Are you scared to make the right choice? Do you think that there is only one right choice and if you make the wrong choice, something terrible, horrible, or awful will happen?
This occurs when you make your choice significant. Significance is constrictive and stops the natural flow of ideas and creation. Ultimately making it difficult to create the life you truly desire.
If I was making every choice that significant, as if my whole life was at stake and everything was dependent on that one single choice, I would be like a dear in the headlights and not be able to choose anything; totally paralyzed. But that is actually what a lot of people do. They focus on a potential outcome that they have constructed in their head, which is not even real, and yet is absolutely and utterly awful!
Fortunately, the truth is much kinder; there is no such thing as the ‘right’ choice. In fact, there is no right or wrong, or good or bad, with anything. Every choice you make creates awareness. And awareness is the key to everything; including everything you truly desire to add or change in your life.
Gary Douglas, the founder of Access Consciousness, is always saying, “Just choose.” Because, rather than trying to second guess and work it all out in your head, making a choice enables you to be aware of the many options that are available and gives you information that you can use to make a choice that will create the greatest outcome.
The magic of a choice is that if you don’t like the result of your choice, you can choose again. Simple. Every time you choose different, you get a different result. You just need to develop the muscle of trusting yourself, in your creative power, and know that you can create the life you truly desire; with every single choice you make.
4 Guidelines To Creating The Best Choices
1. What Do You Desire? In order to follow the energy when making choices, one question to ask is “What do I truly desire?” The key is not to focus on one answer when you ask questions, because there may be more options available than the ones you are assuming. Also, this question is about removing what you
2. Is it light? When faced with a choice, a tool that I love to use is the light and heavy tool from Access Consciousness. When you ask a question, pay attention to how you feel in your body. If you have the sense of lots of space or you feel light, it is true for you. If you feel like you have knots in your stomach or a heavy sensation in your body, it’s usually that it not true for you. So, if you are asking, “What do I truly desire?” and a choice is presented to you, for example, whether or not to take a new job, the lighter choice will be in the direction of that which you truly desire.
3. What will your life be like in the future? Oftentimes when making a choice, we focus on the here and now. Yet you need to consider your future as well. Another tool that I use all the time is asking, “If I choose this, what will my life be like in 5 years? 10 years? 50 years?” and “If I don’t choose this, what will my life be like in 5 years? 10 years? 50 years?” Again, the future that feels lighter is true for you; at the moment.
4. 10 second increments. Notice in point 3 I said, “at the moment”. Things change. You need to be willing to change too. There is a saying, “spin on a dime”; that is the extent you need to be willing to change. One way to assist with this is to live in 10 second increments. What that means is, everything is only true for 10 seconds; any answer, anything! Isn’t that freeing? No choice that you make is ever set in concrete! If you don’t like the result, choose something different. And, even if everything is going along smoothly, it wasn’t some decision you made that worked and that’s that. You are continuing to choose it every 10 seconds. Life becomes a choice! Something you create; not something that happens to you, or something you have to put up with because of some decision you made eons ago.
By following these 4 guidelines, you will always make the ‘right’ choice, because nothing is every wrong, or a mistake. It’s just what you chose at the time. And you can always choose again; with no judgment.
